Earth Hour in Budapest
The lights of the Buda Castle, Parliament and other public buildings were switched off in the Hungarian capital for one hour Saturday evening to take part in a symbolic WWF movement to to raise awareness for energy consumption and effects on the environment.

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF), which organizes the Earth Hour on the last Saturday of March each year before clocks are set to Summer Time in Europe, asks supporters of the movement to turn off the unnecessary lights and electrical equipment for an hour. The aim is to draw attention to climate change and the importance of preserving natural values and sustainable living.
