CONTRIBUTORS OF THE MONTH

Melinda Tünde Dóra is an economic journalist with Hungarian daily Magyar Hirlap, and also edits the paper’s food section. She writes on social issues, and the effects of transition in Central and Eastern Europe.

Mark Fernandes is a freelance journalist working in Prague, the Czech Republic. He is a regular contributor to Radio Prague and English weekly The Prague Post. Next year he plans on publishing his first fiction novel.

Nóra Lakos is a freelance journalist based in Budapest. She is a regular contributor to Hungarian daily Népszava, and deputy editor of the cultural website, ontheglobe.com. She is currently studies film direction.

René le Clere is a freelance writer, working in Montréal, Canada. He has published nearly 1,000 articles on places as diverse as Haiti and Vietnam. Le Clere writes about culture, history, genealogy and heraldry.

Gregor Mayer is the correspondent for the German Press Agency (dpa) in Baghdad covering the recent Iraq war. He previously worked as a correspondent in Budapest and Belgrade.

Christine Pirovolakis is the correspondent for the German Press Agency (dpa) in Athens. She also contributes to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and the English service of German radio broadcaster Deutsche Welle.

Nick Thorpe is a writer, broadcaster and film-maker, basedin Budapest since 1986. He is now a roving BBC correspondent for a region roughly corresponding to the old Ottoman empire.

Andrew Princz, the founding Editor of DT – Diplomacy and Trade, and also edits of cultural portal: ontheglobe.com. As a journalist, he was a correspondent for the German Press Agency (dpa), the Canadian Press and has contributed to numerous publications including the Wall Street Journal, Art News and the Toronto Star.

Jura Nanuk, the founding Photo Editor of DT – Diplomacy& Trade. For five years he covered the conflict-ridden wars in the former Yugoslavia before moving to Budapest. He is currently in production of a photography book on China.
