At the match, Hungary is eager to end a miserable run of results against the Netherlands. Recent results between the two nations have gone overwhelmingly in the Oranje's favor (seven wins, two draws and five defeats) – they are on a five-match winning streak against Hungary, stretching back over 25 years since a 2-1 home defeat in a Rotterdam FIFA World Cup qualifier in October 1984.
The two sides' last two encounters have been particularly dispiriting for Hungary, who lost 7-1 in a friendly in Eindhoven in June 1994 and 6-1 in a pre-World Cup warm-up fixture in June 2010.
For the return leg, the two national sides meet in the Ajax Arena in Amsterdam on March 29.
