A series of events including concerts, exhibitions and gastronomy displays will be held to present the northern Hungarian city of Miskolc and the surrounding region between January 11 and February 9, the statement said.

An exhibition on Hungarian composer Bela Bartok will be opened by MEP Ildikó Gáll Pelcz and Miskolc deputy mayor Marcell Zsiga.

The program includes a concert by the Anima String Quartet playing works by Bartók, Mendelssohn and Leo Weiner. Two wine tasting events are also on the schedule with products from Tokaj, a traditional wine-producing region.

A photo exhibition on Danube bridges will open on January 19 and the series will come to a close with a concert of the Leggiero vocal group on February 9.
