The world's largest tram in Budapest
Engineers at the Center for Budapest Transport (BKK) have assembled the world's largest tram produced by the Spanish company CAF in Beasain, in the Basque Country province of Spain. Budapest ordered 12 of these 56-meter-long Urbo models.

According to CAF, these 9-module trams are 100% low floor. The Urbos 100 bogie system provides a constant floor level of 350 mm above the track along the entire vehicle.

The vehicle is also equipped with a state-of-the-art video entertainment and passenger information system (interior and exterior panels, TFT screens, emergency intercoms, etc.) for perfect passenger information.

After tests runs, the first of these trams is expected to be put in regular operation in the Hungarian capital this fall. Altogether, BKK says 47 CAF trams (35 of which are shorter, 36-meter models) will be in operation in Budapest in the summer of 2016.
