CONTRIBUTORS OF THE MONTH

CAROLYN BÁNFALVI is a freelance journalist based in Budapest. She contributes to local and international publications including CNS News, The Washington Post, and the Globe & Mail.

ZOLTÁN HASZÁN is a staff writer for Hungarian daily, Népszabadság. He has extensively covered a wide array of issues including the media, politics and defense.

NANCY LAFOREST is a freelance journalist based in Budapest, writing for Budapest Week Publishing. Her areas of interest are cultural and social issues, and she also aspires to write fiction.

NÓRA LAKOS is a freelance journalist based in Budapest. She is a regular contributor to Hungarian daily Népszava, and deputy editor of the cultural website ontheglobe.com. She currently studies film direction.

SHAUN MCKENNA is a staff reporter for Budapest Week Publishing. He has specialized in arts reporting and has worked in Canada and Japan.

KRISTEN SCHWEIZER is a regular human rights correspondent for the International Red Cross/Red Crescent. She has written for the Associated Press, San Francisco Chronicle, Boston Globe and formerly worked at Reuters.

SAMANTH SUBRAMANIAN is a freelance journalist based in Chennai, India. He writes profiles and articles on film, literature, sports, arts and politics and regularly contributes to The New Indian Express and The Economic Times.

NICK THORPE is a writer, broadcaster and film-maker, based in Budapest since 1986. He is now a roving BBC correspondent for a region roughly corresponding to the old Ottoman Empire.

Andrew Princz

founding editor of DT – Diplomacy and Trade is also editor of cultural news, information and services portal, ontheglobe.com. He also contributes to the Wall Street Journal Europe.

Jura Nanuk

founding photo editor of DT – Diplomacy and Trade covered the conflict-ridden wars in the former Yugoslavia before moving to Budapest. He is the author of “The Colors of China,” a photographic journey through modern-day China.
